The BFS can turn on a dime, as soon as the rudder pedal is moved the BFS starts turning instantly. It is one of the most responsive kayaks of its size and turns like a kayak nearly half its size. For kayak fishers who regularly surf launch the Stealth BFS has developed something of a reputation for tempering the risk during those first few minutes of the launch.
No matter what B.F.S. stands for, this Big Fishing Ski is the biggest kayak in the Stealth Supalite range. A little longer and slightly wider than the Supalite X make the B.F.S a little more stable for the even larger angler up to 145 kgs. With the extra length the kayak is also a little faster to paddle and all round a great performer. Once again the standard Supalite design concept was kept making the kayak great in surf conditions, super stable and comfortable to paddle. The bigger size however does mean the kayak is slightly more difficult to handle and a little heavier too.

The BFS’s rod storage has resulted in it being a market leader for offshore fishing kayaks. The main centre hatch located between the paddler’s legs provides access to the inside of the hull, enabling the user to store fully rigged rods inside the hull during surf launches. This is an important feature when considering the cost of broken rods, not to mention reels needing servicing after being dunked in salt water.
Inside the main hatch is a tackle tray. Sitting just under the top of the hatch the tackle tray slides out when in use and slides back out of view when not needed providing very easy access to lures, plastics, pliers, scissors etc, all within arms reach.
While the centre hatch can be used for rod storage, it can also double to be used for storing large fish. Fish can be easily despatched into the hull, it’s just a matter of flipping the centre hatch open before the fish is brought to the surface, then once the fish has been netted or gaffed it can be slid straight into the hull via the centre hatch. If targeting smaller fish, the rear tub can be used and by adding some water it will allow fish to be kept alive, giving you the option of releasing smaller, legal fish or to keep your catch fresh.
